By making a booking with The Purple Tree Guest House, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set out below.

Coronavirus: Please do not travel if you or anyone in your party is showing the common symptoms of Coronavirus (i.e fever, persistent cough loss of taste or smell). You will socially distance and agree to all our new procedures & extra measures to ensure everyone's safety

Deposits: A non-refundable deposit equal to the first night’s stay for each room booked is required at the time of booking. The balance of monies owed is due on arrival. (If booked less than 48 hours prior to arrival date, we reserve the right to take payment in full).

Cancellations: 

A guest can cancel free of charge until 14 days before arrival. The guest will be charged the total price of the reservation if they cancel in the 14 days before arrival.


This will allow guests to make informed choices close to their booking. 

 

We recommend taking out adequate holiday cancellation insurance.

Class Bookings Terms & Conditions

Please read before booking your class place.


We always undertake to provide fun, creative classes and to treat our customers fairly.
It's necessary to have some terms & conditions to ensure we meet our legal obligations, particularly relating to Consumer Protection Regulations.

If we are forced to Cancel

In the unlikely event we have to cancel a class you are entitled to a full refund of the class booking fee paid if we can’t find an alternative date that suits us all.
If the cancellation is due to health-related Government advice we will offer one or more alternative dates first. If no dates can be found that suit you will be entitled to a refund of the booking fee paid.

The Purple Tree Guest House or Debonair cannot accept responsibility for travel, accommodation or other incidental costs you may have incurred.

If you have paid for your class by voucher, the voucher validity will be extended by 6 months to enable you to join a future class date.

If you have to Cancel

If you have to cancel your class booking, please let us know as soon as possible.
If you ask to cancel within four weeks of the class no refund will be possible, unless we have a waiting list for that class and can transfer your place to someone else.

If you are unwell and unable to attend (or may have an infectious illness and have been advised not to attend) please contact us as soon as possible. We will hold your booking until a suitable future date can be arranged.

For the time that Corona Virus (Covid-19) is considered a serious risk please contact us before travelling to a class if you feel unwell, or have been in contact with somone displaying Corona Virus symptoms or have recently travelled to one of the 'at risk' areas.

In the interests of keeping all attendees and ourselves safe we will ask you not to join the class, but instead contact us to arrange a future date.

If you have travelled to one of the countries the UK Government considers a high risk within 14 days of the class we will ask you not to attend, and will transfer your booking to a future date. This is to protect the other attendees and ourselves and is non-negotiable.

As the quarantine times and requirements vary we will aim to be as flexible as we can - but this does not mean attendees can join a class until at least 14 days have passed since arrival in to the UK. If we cannot find a suitable future date we will provide a refund of the fee paid at that point. Attendance for those affected is at our discretion.

You may transfer your booking to a different class or class date (subject to availability) in the same calendar year, provided you advise us of your preference more than four weeks before the original class date.

Refunds are made solely at our discretion in exceptional circumstances but generally our policy is as above.

Instead of cancelling you may prefer to transfer your place to a friend; this is acceptable provided the substitute is physically able to complete the class.

14-day cooling off period – Consumer Protection Regulations

For class bookings made online the 14-day cooling off period applies, according to Consumer Protection Law.
For this cooling off period to apply you must advise us by email or phone or in person within the 14 days, which commence on the day you make your booking.
A full refund of class fees paid by that date will be made, via the original payment method.

For classes which start within the 14 days, by booking you are agreeing that the class can take place before the cooling off period ends and that your right to cancel expires on the start of the class.

This policy also applies to voucher purchases online.

Class fees and Materials

Your class fee constitutes your booking.
Where additional materials are required for full-day classes, your booking confirmation will advise.
Otherwise, materials, refreshments and lunch are included.

Under 18s Policy

Most of our classes are designed for adults. 
We also offer simple half-day glass fusing for children of age 12 and up, provided a responsible adult accompanies them for the duration of the session. These classes are held by prior arrangement.

Where Lunch is included

Most of our full-day classes include lunch with us.
Gluten-free meals can be provided, as long as we are advised before the class.
Other intolerances or allergies can sometimes be accommodated if enough notice is given, but you are welcome to bring your own lunch if you prefer.
All students are welcome to bring their own snacks or soya milk if they wish.

For 5-day courses

Specific booking and cancellation policies for these classes are detailed on the class  information website pages for these courses.
A toilet is located within 20 metres of the studio.

If you have specific mobility, access or working requirements, please get in touch before booking so we can advise.

Clothing and Footwear

For classes involving glass, we ask all students to wear fully enclosed footwear.
We provide aprons for all classes that require them, but we also recommend students wear scruffy clothes too.

Start and finish times

The start time of your class will be advised on your booking confirmation. Please aim to arrive a little before the class starts. Finish times are advisory; as students work at different speeds your own finish time may be after the official end of the class.
We suggest you avoid making fixed plans after the class.

Voucher Validity for class places

The Purple Tree Guest House or Debonair vouchers are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase.
Where a voucher is to be used to pay for a class place, we ask that the class is booked within that 6 month period, but the date of that class can be any time in that calendar year.
For example, a voucher bought as a Christmas present could be used to book a class place in October, provided that booking is made with 6 months of the voucher purchase.

Personal Data held on you by us

According to EU General Data Protection Regulations we are required to advise you of the uses we will make of the personal data you provide when making a class booking.

These are:

  • To manage your booking, record your attendance, and ensure your place is secured

  • To contact you in advance of the class to confirm your booking, immediately before the class to remind you of your booking and to advise of any materials you should bring

  • To contact you in case of changes to the time, date, venue or content

We will not use these details to market to you or send unsolicited emails, nor will we share this data with any 3rd party except for the express purpose of fulfilling our booking - ie. dietary requirements, special learning requirements etc.

We will invite you to join our newsletter subscription list, but your joining this list will be by your own decision, with the full rights of EU citizens under the GDPR to clean, amend or delete your personal data.
